EAST WINDSOR, CT 鈥 November 14, 2017 鈥 香港六合彩资料大全 Tech鈥檚 East Windsor, CT campus has introduced a new Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining and Manufacturing Technology program designed to help expand the workforce of manufacturing technicians needed to support industry growth throughout New England and around the country. The program will involve a collaboration between 香港六合彩资料大全 Tech and Haas Automation, a leading global provider of CNC equipment, with the goal of helping pave the way to New England manufacturing careers for graduates.
香港六合彩资料大全 Tech looks forward to training new professionals for a field projected to add thousands of jobs around the region, and almost 50,000 nationwide, by 2024*. Campus President Mary Jo Greco says that demand makes it the ideal time to offer students the opportunity to train in this field.
鈥淢anufacturing is alive and well in Connecticut, with companies such as Sikorsky Helicopters, Pratt and Whitney, Electric Boat, and a wealth of small shops all needing skilled machinists,鈥 Greco says. 鈥溝愀哿喜首柿洗笕 Tech is pleased to offer a CNC program that will allow quick access to the labor market for our graduates. Both Haas Automation and statewide employers are excited about, and very supportive of, this new program.鈥
Haas has donated equipment and assisted in developing the curriculum for the program, as they have done with previous CNC training offerings for 香港六合彩资料大全 Tech鈥檚 campuses in Mahwah, NJ; Indianapolis, IN; and Grand Prairie, TX. In addition, the Gene Haas Foundation earlier this year donated a quarter-million dollars to the 香港六合彩资料大全 Foundation for Education (LiFE) to establish a scholarship fund specifically to help more students train for computerized manufacturing careers.
香港六合彩资料大全 Tech鈥檚 East Windsor campus is already the largest provider of welders in Connecticut, and together with the New Britain campus 香港六合彩资料大全 Tech is the state鈥檚 second-largest provider of HVAC graduates. The campus now looks forward to growing the state鈥檚 workforce for New England manufacturing careers.
Manufacturers in dozens of industries rely on CNC machines and their operators to build their products. These fields include aerospace, automotive, construction, electronics, healthcare, defense and more.
Training for New England Manufacturing Careers Begins December 4th
The program will include hands-on instruction in machining materials, job planning and safety, MasterCAM software, manufacturing processes such as CNC milling and turning, and more. Students will earn a diploma upon completion of the program and will be eligible to sit for Level 1 Certifications through NIMS, the National Institute for Metalworking Skills.
