HVAC Technology Program
Students in our Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating Systems Technology program (HVAC Technology) learn to build important and necessary skills for working with commercial refrigeration control systems, repairing and replacing compressors, handling refrigerant piping, troubleshooting electrical motors and motor controls, and plotting air conditioning with psychrometric charts. Theory and practical applications of electricity are taught, alongside strict safety procedures for working with high voltage systems.
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Tech also trains the student to carefully recover and recycle coolant, a must-know skill for handling compressed gases and preventing gas from escaping into the environment. When you finish this program, you’ll be ready to sit for EPA certification testing. We also encourage our grads to test for certification through the Green Mechanical Council.
Our HVAC programs train the student to build the entry-level skills employers want to see. The program was created to include more hours of hands-on lab experience, practice with sheet metal and other types of materials you will find on the job, and energy efficiency auditing.
The Diploma program offered by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Tech's HVAC training gives you hands-on experience working with some of the same types of equipment used every day by the pros:
- Thermal imaging cameras
- Volt ohmmeters
- Wire strippers
- Manifold gauge sets
- Low loss fittings
- Specialized pliers and screwdrivers
