Computer Networking
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Tech's Computer Systems Support Technician training program is comprised of 990 instructional hours delivered in 7 courses and a 150-hour internship. This intensive training prepares you to sit for the CompTIA A+ Certification & Network+ exams. This program is offered at our Allentown PA and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« RI campuses, as well as at our Paramus, Iselin and Moorestown, NJ locations.
The computer networking program starts with the fundamentals of computer technology, how that applies to the Personal Computer, and how its operating system works. The follow-up to this foundation includes how to maintain, repair and support these machines as a stand-alone unit. When that is mastered, the subject becomes even more interesting as students learn how the computer they now support interacts with the rest of the world via a network.
The next phase of training introduces the student to Networking, and the tools and techniques that govern how networking functions. When these skills are developed, advanced networking with instruction in routing and firewalls becomes the next skill to learn. Further training adds to this skill set – the student learns how servers work. This course is accompanied by a study in data security, which gives the computer networking student an understanding of the dangers presented by malware, hacking and data piracy. The advent of cloud computing increases the student’s awareness of how important it is to protect data stored in the cloud, and to keep completely up to date on how to accomplish that.
