Program Objective
The Advanced Aesthetics program prepares students for entry-level positions within the cosmetology industry. Students will start with basic aesthetics topics which include facials, make-up, cosmetic products, ingredients, infection control, wax and depilatories, spa treatments, aesthetic role in the medical field, microdermabrasion, infection control, state laws, regulations and safety in aesthetic practices. The students will then move into the advanced aesthetics topics including pharmacology for aestheticians, perform services for high frequency, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, body contouring, micro-needling and HydraFacial. The student will also learn excellence in customer service with an emphasis on communication.
In addition to the technical training, a critical aspect of a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« education is developing the professional skills that are required by our employers. Students will need to demonstrate skill proficiency through a series of professional development activities and seminars which are integrated into each course. The modules include: Student Success, Financial Literacy, Professional Development, and Career Success.
Graduates of this program are encouraged to sit for the state licensing exam. The program is designed to prepare students for careers like Aesthetician, Clinical Esthetician, Esthetician, Facialist, Medical Esthetician, Skin Care Specialist, Skin Care Technician, Skin Care Therapist, and Spa Technician.
Students will be required to complete out-of-class assignments in each course

Course Description
This course is designed to provide the student with knowledge and skills in the areas of basic skincare, dermanalysis, facial manipulations and use and care of electrical machines. Demonstrations and workshops refine skills and build confidence, while theoretical understanding is increased through a structured classroom environment. This course will also provide the student with basic knowledge and skills in Makeup, Facial Structure, and Principles of color & design techniques. Additionally, the student will learn Hair Removal methods along with different types of waxing products, chemical depilatories and various contraindications as it relates to hair removal. Students are exposed to basic business building skills, client service strategies, and state safety and sanitation requirements. The student will learn basic communication skills including respect, integrity, personality basics, balance, and body language, speaking and listening as well as professional etiquette, goal setting and personal organization. In all, the student will gain the foundation that is needed to be able to function in the field of Aesthetics.

Course Description
Students will refine technical expertise, develop dexterity, and improve timing through rigorous and diligent training. This course focuses on Nevada laws, anatomy of the human body, use and care of electrical machines, chemistry and advanced treatments. This course will also provide the student with basic knowledge and skills in Makeup, Facial Structure, and Principles of color & design techniques and professional development and salon business skills. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of state guidelines is pertinent in an aesthetic career.

Course Description
This course is designed to provide the student with knowledge and skills in the areas of aesthetics as it relates to the workplace. The course also focuses on chemistry and advanced treatments. Topics include the periodic elements, cosmetic ingredients, body treatments, plastic surgery and the aestheticians’ role in a medical setting. This course also offers instruction in preparation for licensure and job placement. In addition, preparation for written and practical mid-term and final examinations in mock settings, along with assigned review sessions help guide and prepare students for the actual licensure-testing process. Regulatory laws, rules and regulations, and school policies and procedures are required topics and serve as the foundation for professional competence.
Infection control procedures are identified along with fees, hour requirements, and other pertinent, related information.

Course Description
This course will provide the student with the underpinning knowledge and skills to perform advanced dermal therapies. In this course, the students will learn advanced manipulative skills, such as pharmacology for aestheticians, dermaplanning, microdermabrasion, body contouring, micro-needling and HydraFacial, safety protocols, proper work habits, and business skills necessary to obtain licensure and competency in job positions in advanced aesthetics positions or a related career field.

Blended courses are offered by delivering a fraction of the course in an online format as well as traditional face to face method. Online courses are delivered 100% online. The Blended delivery and online delivery plan will implement distance education activities into each course in the program of study. The use of simulations, case studies, assessments and multimedia may be used to enhance the students understanding of the learning objectives outlined in the course syllabus
